My Alcohol

I have always been an OC (obsessive compulsive) when it comes to cleanliness. So when I found out that my favorite disinfecting partner can do more, I couldn’t help but share my find.
I have always believed in my “alcohol” as it disinfects almost anything. I was so elated when I learned that it not only disinfects, but cleans and removes not just dirt and germs.
1.      Cleans bathroom fixtures and removes water spots. Just wet a cloth or paper towel with rubbing alcohol and rub firmly on bathroom fixtures and water marks. Buff with a soft cloth or dry paper towel for that shinny finish.
2.      Stain remover. Combine one part rubbing alcohol with two parts water to remove just about any stains from ink to coffee. Spray the mixture to the stain then wait for a few minutes before washing.

For grass stains which is more difficult to take out, use undiluted rubbing alcohol. Let it sit for ten minutes before washing as usual.
3. Heavy duty window cleaner. Combine one pint rubbing alcohol, two tablespoons of ammonia and two tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Using a nylon-covered sponge, apply the mixture to the window, rinse then buff dry. This mixture also works on screen stains, hard-water spots and even bird stains.
4. Shoe polisher and deodorizer. Rub your shoes with a little undiluted rubbing alcohol. Proceed with the polisher. For your smelly shoes, spray rubbing alcohol inside the shoes and leave it overnight.
5. Appliance cleaner. Mixing two parts rubbing alcohol and one part water, spray on appliances then buff clean. This works on stainless steel appliances too leaving them streak-free.
6. Tick remover. Need help with that pesky tick on your dog? Stun the tick with the rubbing alcohol to make it easy to remove with tweezers.
7. Remove garlic smell from your hands. One of the things I love to do is cook. One of the common ingredients/spices I use is garlic. The smell of garlic is appetizing but not so if you smell it on your hands. To take out the smelly garlic from your hands, just pour rubbing alcohol on your hands rubbing your hands gently.  Then wash with soap and water.

8. Windshield washer fluid. This solution of one quart rubbing alcohol, one cup water, and two tablespoons of liquid dishwashing soap or laundry detergent is guaranteed not to freeze even at 30 degrees below zero.

I love my alcohol for the many wonders it does for an OC like me J.

Priorities Reviewed

As the famous philosopher William James said, “The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook.” The real genius is one who knows what not to do. You read it right! Hang on with me as we review your priorities.

I agree with you, you know your priorities. You may have even used the Pareto Principle coined by the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto to identify your priorities. You focus your attention on the top 20% of all your priorities to get an 80% return on your effort. I must commend you on that.

But are you doing even just the 20% or are you getting off track?

Is it your co-worker who keeps talking nonsense or a family member that’s nagging you to help him do his tasks? Do people around you demand so many things from you? Stop blaming people; it is your call to accomplish your priorities. No one can sap your attention and energy without you allowing them to do so.

The people and projects that make the most noise and create the greatest pressure are not necessarily the most important. Maybe because of the pressure, you give in.  This attitude will cause you to forfeit your ability to put your best time into the things that really matter. As a result those bigger and more important things begin to crumble and crash, leading to bigger problems and pressures.

Review your attitude.

Are you always saying, “Yes”? Remember, you have your own goals to achieve. Before you say “Yes”, check your schedule and your priority list. Do you have the time and energy to help? Evaluate if doing what was asked from you will keep you off track. If it would, you must say “No”.

Are you overly competing?  The attitude of “Anything you can do, I can do better,” prevents you from delegating and collaborating. When you delegate, you will have more time for the more pressing tasks you need to do. When you collaborate you are able to turn good ideas into great ideas. By collaborating you will utilise the skills of other people. You are never good with everything. Some other people will have a particular skill better than yours.

Do you choose to enjoy now and work later? There is nothing wrong with taking a little break from the grind. However, you must know when to go back to work and to your priority. The social media is such a huge temptation. You would want to know what your friends are doing now at Facebook or what they posted on Instagram. Your games on your phone could be taking more hours from you than your priorities. You don’t have to totally abandon what you enjoy or your social life but you need to limit these distractions.  It is still better to be productive now and save playtime for later.

Reviewing your priorities and sticking to them will make you achieve your goals.

What is your priority? Is it to earn money?

Sharpen Your Negotiation Skills

You may not notice it but you negotiate every single day of your life. As you make decisions the moment you awake, you also have to negotiate as you go through your day. You talk your child into bringing his snacks to school instead of buying from the cafeteria, you negotiate with a neighbor for a ride, you bargain with the grocer, etc.

Every single act that you do requires negotiation.  Here’s how to sharpen your negotiation skills whether it be a simple negotiation at home, in your neighborhood, at your work, or in your business.

Like the good old boy scout motto, “Be prepared.”

People think that confidence and boisterousness are keys to sealing a deal.  Others say that you need experience to become a good negotiator. But most of the time, it merely takes preparation to ensure you are aptly equipped to assert mutually desirable terms, anticipate objections, and discern your opponent’s weak spots to enforce a win-win solution. Note that I mentioned “win-win solution” because winning a negotiation means we are concerned with our so-called “opponent”.  A win-win negotiation is another long topic so let me just briefly state that we are after a humanely negotiation; we do not negotiate to abuse our so-called “opponent”.  When you have a heart, a compassionate heart, you become endearing even to your opponent and this will overshadow any lack of experience you may have in negotiation. Having a heart will also make the other party less defensive and will make the other party more amenable to your stipulations. Come in well prepared in mind and heart.

Keep in mind that everything is negotiable.
A great negotiator keeps an open mind. He knows that everything is negotiable; there is no road block as far as negotiation is concerned. When you have the mindset that the terms for anything can be changed into a beneficial agreement for both parties, doors of possibilities and opportunities open.

Keep building relationships.
No negotiation will proceed unless a good relationship is built. Negotiation does not happen when people are unruly and shouting at the top of their voices. The same is true in building a business. If you are in the business of networking, do not just give away your business card in an event. Spend a few minutes connecting and getting to know people more on a deeper level. Ask about their family, their hobbies, goals, etc. Get a little more personal. A good relationship will help you collaborate and improve your business deal.

Do not assume that the other party understands or knows what you want; ask for what you want.
The reason why sales people don’t get the sale is because they don’t ask. The same is true in negotiation; to get what you want, you must ask for it. The reason why some sales people don’t ask for the sale is because of the fear of rejection or being branded as too strong. Same is true in negation; some negotiators fear rejection or are afraid of being branded as greedy. In negotiations, rejection is never personal. If you were rejected or did not win the negotiation, it merely means thatt you did not present a viable argument substantiating why you should get what you want. Or it could mean that there was a much better solution to the issue at hand.

Practise the art of silence.
What is your reaction to a sales person who just keeps on talking? Irritated and you don’t give him the sale. You may even vow never to talk to him again; you will avoid him. Too much talk will prevent you from knowing what the other party has to say and therefore not being able to refute whatever is in their thoughts. Do not underestimate the power of silence. According to an old adage “he or she who speaks next loses.” Keep quiet and listen to win the  negotiation.

Work Smart

Who hasn’t heard of this philosophy, “Work smarter, not harder.”? How can it improve our lives? What impact does it have in our lives?
For me, this philosophy has impacts both on our finances and our relationship. To work smart means to set your priorities.

On the financial side, it means using your best time to work on something that will bring you more money. On the relationship side, it means putting your most important relationship above all else. How do you determine your most important thing or relationship? Your answer to this simple question will let you know who or what matters most to you. Who would be with you when you are in the most difficult part of your life? I hope you answered family.

A lot of things may seem to be important but our family occupies the top of these important things in life. Therefore whatever you plan or do, take your family as your vital consideration.

Priorities take centre stage as you pursue your goals and dreams. As you evaluate your priorities, you need to think intentionally to maximize your effectiveness in the things that matter the most in your life.
Remember that there are two kinds of priorities. These are your ideal priorities and your actual priorities.

Your ideal priorities would be what you value and believe you should be doing with your time. Your actual priorities are what you actually did the last 24 hours, last month, during the weekday and on weekends. Your actual priorities can easily be traced from the last ten transactions in your bank account. Your actual priorities are visible as the top five people listed in your recent calls on your phone.

Evaluate this carefully to help you develop a clear understanding of the gap between your ideal priorities and your actual priorities. Simply put, this gap is where you are today and where you’d really like to be. Once you know where you are and where you want to go, you will be able to leap to your goals; you will be able to work smart because you have clearly identified your ideal priority and can now close in the gap from your actual priority.

I just want to caution you though, to put your relationships especially your family above all else. Your family will be all you will have when you go through the valleys. Your journey to success will definitely include valleys therefore you need someone who is truly concerned about you to help you get back on your feet.

To work smart is to set the right priorities. A successful person follows her priorities. If those priorities are distorted and disordered we will mismanage our schedule and therefore will not be successful. When you don’t have the luxury of time, don't focus on greater efficiency. Rather, evaluate your priorities so you can work smart.

Change is Desire With Action

I have yet to find someone who would say that they don’t welcome change. If you talk to people, they will always tell you that they are apt for change. But when you closely evaluate their situation you would rarely see that they are truly on the path of change. Change is a desire with action.

You can’t simply desire to change; you must be intentional about it to enable you to take action. Change can best be described as a quest. When you go on a quest, you prepare a plan and do it. When you go on a quest, you don’t just sit on your pan; you implement it. You make it a reality.

Change Starts With Desire
Change starts with the desire. You might want to change something in your present situation. Before arriving to that desire to change, you would have evaluated where you are. What prompted you to want to change? Knowing why you want change will motivate you to change.

Desire Starts With Realisation
You need to know where you are to enable you to get to where you want to go. It is simply like finding your way in a foreign country. You look for a map in the streets or in train stations. The first thing that these maps will tell is where you are. You will find a star that says “You Are Here” and then shows the various directions to various places from your starting point, “You Are Here.”

Where Do You Want to Go?
After knowing where you are, you can now decide where you want to go. Do you want to travel two hours by an ordinary train to get to your destination or you would prefer a bullet train and save you an hour. Do you have the means or the money to take the bullet train? Will going to a certain direction satisfy your desire?

Start Planning
When you have decided where you want to go, you need to have a plan to ensure success. You need to evaluate your resources. If you are starting a business, you should have prepared a business plan and a marketing plan. People who desire to keep improving would normally plan to continue to learn. They plan for a formal education and an informal one. An informal education consists of personal reading of motivational books and books related to their chosen business or interest. They would also surround themselves with successful people and people with common interest and passion. They would detail this plan including the dates and amount of time needed. They would have deadlines for each specify activity or plan of action.

Take Action
A plan to change can never happen unless you are intentional about it. Being intentional means taking action. You do everything possible to make sure you follow your plan. If your plan consists of reading at least 1 motivational book every month then by all means you must accomplish this.

We all desire change...a change for the better. However, change will never happen if you are not intentional about it. If you take a random survey of 10 people you see in a subway, they will always say they want change in their life. But if you ask them they are doing to make that change happen, it is rare that you hear detailed and intentional plans.

Do not be overcome with desire. Don’t switch off your alarm clock and go back to sleep. Switch it off but get up for your 6 a.m. morning jog to have an energised body that will help you get through all your plans for the day. Be intentional if you want change to happen.

The Shortcut to Success

A lot of people will not agree with me that there is a shortcut to success. They would say that success means going through the motions of failure; getting up, failing again, getting up again; repeating the cycle again and again till you make it. There is nothing wrong with this because the failures make you stronger and more capable.
However, why do you have to go through that cycle when you can replicate/copy the success of other people? Why do you have to fail and get up again? Why do you have to go through the maze when there is somebody who can lead you the way without getting the bumps and the bruises? Learn from the mistakes and success of those who have gone before you. This is the shortcut to success.
Clear your mental space and allow it to be filled with fresh off the press information that will allow you to build your business the BEST way, the way your mentor has done.
Yes it is true, lots of information will be thrown your way but they’re good things that you need to stay current in your business. The best way to learn from a mentor is to:
  • Come with an open mind to learn and soak up all the new information.
  • Always put on the hat of an entrepreneur! Make every occasion an opportunity to network.
  • Say to yourself that you will no longer step into another conversation with you mentor and leave the same.
  • Have you heard of power dressing? Dress for success always. When you meet clients and prospect, dress in a way that you want to be treated. Let them see and feel that success is in front of them.
  • Start FRESH! Forget your failures; you are now successful!

HSM (Helping Single Mums) offers free mentoring services because we believe in you!

Put Down Your Heavy Load

https://www.facebook.com/CollectiveEvolutionPage/?fref=nf
This is one story that says it all. Unknowingly, we sometimes carry our burdens throughout life. We fail to put them down or leave them behind as we continue our journey. Thus, we don't get too far because of the heavy load.

Every night before you go to bed, remember to put down your heavy load. When you wake up in the morning, make sure that you've left your heavy load and will not go back to carry it again.

A Friendly Reminder

We are half-way through 2016. Let me guess... most if not all of our New Year’s resolutions have been broken L. Let me guess again... top of that list is about health and losing weight!

I don’t mean to rub it in; rather, my intention is to remind you that health is wealth. Our environment has become so polluted that sickness abounds everywhere. You don’t have to live in a third world country to experience life debilitating illnesses. In fact, most of the life threatening illnesses are common in the first world countries. I know you are aware of this; so, this is just a friendly reminder to make you get back to your promises concerning your health.

Here are reminders that will help you regain your health and your life.

Eat more fish. The fatty acids found in fish may decrease the risk of stroke. This good oil improves the viscosity and clotting of blood.

Avoid alcoholic drinks. The key is moderation; more than 2 servings for men and 1 serving for women will have a negative effect on health.

Stress leads to hypertension and definitely other life-threatening diseases. Distract yourself from stress by taking up a hobby, exercising, or meditating. Allow yourself to daydream. Revel in the fantasy and smile; this will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Drink more water. Make sure you have a glass or bottle of water close to you wherever you are or whatever you are doing.

Eat right. Heart disease can be overcome with proper nutrition. Load up on vegetables to remove saturated fat.

Sweat it out. The only way to strengthen heart muscles is to exercise. This should shake off high triglycerides level. Adopting a regular exercise program will strengthen your heart beat by beat.

Here’s to a healthy you this year and the years to come J

If Only

Some words should not be used together. “If only” carry a negative feeling that can be detrimental to your success.

"If only I could get a better break."
"If only I had some money."
"If only I would've married the right person."
"If only I worked for the right company."
"If only I had the right parents."
“If only I was born rich.”
“If only I had more education.”

These are excuses; they pull back from taking full personal responsibility for yourself and your present situation. And when you refuse to take responsibility, you will not be able to create a change in your situation.

Many of us avoid do not want to take the blame.  We think that a parent, a teacher, a friend, a boss, a spouse, the company we worked for, or some governmental program should be responsible in turning our lives into what we want them to be. When problems arise we are quick to say, “Life is not fair.” But the truth of the matter is that life is never fair.

Stop thinking that the world owes you a living. You can never get things done or effect a change by sighing “If only”.  Keep in mind that other people and organizations also have pressing challenges and priorities of their own. Because of this you will always be disappointed when you depend on others for the things you must do for yourself.  It's so easy to justify the temptations of freeloading, to slide into being a follower, to fail to see the hidden price tag in the handout.  Unless you take complete control of your life and assume full personal responsibility for yourself, who will? No one will.

Every single Peso you earn is worth ten given to you.  Earned money creates the self-image of self-reliance; given money creates the self-image of other-dependence.  Money won in lottery does absolutely nothing to the character and improvement of the person. This is why some families never get out of the rut.
Hangers-on and freeloaders are the most frustrated people on earth because they have created their own frustrations.  You can't be successful and happy until you earn the respect of the toughest, hardest to fool, and most important judge in the world:  yourself.

Boycott these two words and begin taking responsibility for your life. “If only “is a product of a victim’s mentality. Success is when you have a victor’s mentality; that is to take charge and to be responsible. You must stop blame storming other people, organizations or the government. Instead, start brainstorming to help you fix your problems. Rather than fixing the blame, for the breakdown, begin to fix the breakdown and you’ll find your life and career working for you.

An unknown poet left us this beautiful poem that would help us carry our responsibilities and stop blaming others.

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your tears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

Future-Proofing Your Business

This generation is more concerned about future-proofing their business than any generation in the past. The reason... this generation has seen unprecedented technological advancement. In an instant, change happens. New developments happen in the blink of an eye. What you thought not possible is possible in another part of the world. New ideas die or are replaced by newer and better ideas faster than you can think of them.
Because of the speed of communication and availability of data and information, entrepreneurs are often bombarded with business building advice from several directions. Several advice complicates the future-proofing of a business. Trying to utilise available technology complicates things.
We should go back to the basics; here are some simple reminders on how you can future-proof your business:
  1. Invest in yourself. You should keep learning because you are your greatest asset. Invest not only on your knowledge or intellectual capability but also on your personality. Have you heard of power dressing? Dress up for success. Do not be sloppy in your choice of clothes. Dress up for a meeting or a presentation or even if you will just meet some friends. Power dressing exudes confidence. Your mind will align to how you feel with yourself.
  2. Surround yourself with the best people; their personality will rub on to you. Build a great team; you need a strong team to future-proof your business.
  3. Keep networking. Whatever business you are in you need to expand your network to get more business, get more ideas, and be in-tune with the latest in your industry. Remember that networking is more than handing your business card to someone. Networking is building a solid relationship of trust, respect, and commitment to help one another.

Choose Wisely

We thought we are super human beings. We thought we are Super Moms.

Maybe, yes we are. But there is an end to everything, including what we think we are. We may have been able to do a plethora of things because it must be done; we are the only remaining rudder of the boat that is out in the open sea. Everyone (our children) are looking on to us for survival.

But if you pose for just a while, you will realise, that you can do anything but not everything. Therefore, you need choose wisely to get the best from your choice. Do not spread yourself so thinly that you will fail to get the best. Use your talent, skill and put more effort into what will bring you the best result.

Weigh the opportunities and decide the best by stepping backwards to look at the big picture. Don't be deceived by opportunities that promise immediate results. Consider the future; consider the big picture.

Success does not come easily; we need to work hard for it. So choose to do the work that promises great reward because you can not do everything.

Weird Characteristics of Successful People

Don’t judge a book by its cover. This adage is very much true to a number of successful people because they don’t fit the norm. Normally, we would label successful people as those who have high education and come from rich families.
So, the next time you meet someone a bit weird consider him/her as a possible candidate to success. Is there someone you know who resemble the following characteristics?
Did not finish school
Some successful entrepreneurs did not finish school. John D. Rockefeller and Henry Ford only finished high school.
Billionaire Richard Branson and boxing legend turned spokesperson George Foreman left school to pursue their careers. We all know of school dropout, Steve Jobs, without him we will not be enjoying our Apple gadgets. How about Bill Gates of Microsoft Corporation? In most cases, successful people are intellectually gifted.  Though they are good at what they do, they don’t always function well in a formal learning environment. Some even regard school as a hindrance to their dreams. But suffice it to say that successful people put a high value to learning whether it is in a formal setting or an informal one.
Gifted in arts and sports
A common denominator of successful people is their passion, dedication, and hard work. These are the exact disciplines needed to become a successful musician, actor, or athlete.  Condoleezza Rice is a classically trained pianist, while Kevin Bacon has played in a blues rock band for decades.
Quick to give up
Don’t get me wrong here. When I say quick to give up, I don’t mean to say that successful people are quick to give up on their dreams. Quite the contrary, successful people do not give up on their dreams. Rather they are quick to give up on an approach they feel is not working. They are quick to change the approach or the way to their dreams. Successful people will not spend their time doing the same thing over and over again. They figure out what worked and what did not, then they move on with a new plan. After a careful evaluation, successful people will not hesitant to give up when they realise that something is not in their area of talent or expertise.
Focus on the big picture
A successful person would always step back to take a look at the big picture before making any decision. He may even pass up on an opportunity which promises immediate benefits in order to gain bigger and better things in the future.

Fashion nonsense
Have you noticed the choice of outfit of Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs? It is very simple. Why do they wear simple outfits? Have you heard of the priority of thought? The logic here is to make fewer choices on mundane or simple tasks so that you have more time to decide and make good choices on the big and important things. It is for this  reason that many successful people take the choice out of their wardrobe and simply wear the same or similar things each day.

How to Keep Your Brain Young

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “…senior moments”? Well, I have. It is happening now more often L.  I recognize someone’s face but I am not able to remember their name. I forget where I left my keys or phone. Sometimes, I would look for my eyeglass only to find out that it is pinned on my blouse or I wear it on my hair.

People of all ages complain about these kinds of memory lapses which can escalate as our brains age.  Though memory lapses are a normal occurrence, we all have considerable control over our own brain aging and the memory slips that accompany it.

Following are some ways to keep your brain young.

Give time to exercise.
Not only is exercise good for your physical health, it also aids your mental health. According to a study conducted by s
cientists at the University of Illinois, brisk walkers have bigger and better functioning brains than those who don’t do any cardiovascular conditioning. Another study showed that walking briskly 90 minutes each week lowers the risk for developing dementia. Why is this so? During exercise, the heart pumps oxygen and nutrients to the brain. It is also during exercise that the body produces brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which stimulates better brain cell communication.

Learn to handle stress.
No one can avoid stress; it is part of living.  The key here is to accept that stress is inevitable and that you should learn how to handle it well to prevent stress from causing a negative impact on your brain function and memory performance. Stressed people get distracted; they find it difficult to focus and learn new information.  There are several ways to handle stress. You can try getting a hobby to clear your mind from whatever it is that bothers you. Or you can do some relaxation exercises like tai chi, yoga, and meditation.

Have a balanced meal.
Obese people are prone to develop dementia. A diet that includes omega-3 fats from fish, nuts or flaxseed is important for a healthy brain. It is recommended that we have five daily servings of fresh fruits and vegetables to protect our brain cells from age-associated oxidative stress. For strong cognitive abilities, processed foods and refined sugars must be avoided.

Exercise your brain.
Keep learning new things. Read and engage in stimulating conversations. Take on the hobby of doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or any game that would make your brain work.  Computer games like IQ Boost and NeuroRacer help boost the health of our brains.

If your brain is really malfunctioning there are some strategies to help you remember. When you were introduced to someone, find something distinct in that person. It could be her subtle smile. Imagine her as the Mona Lisa and it will help you remember her name. If you keep forgetting where you put your keys or glasses, designate a place to where you will put these things. This place will then be your memory place.

Aging is inevitable and our brain is affected by it. However, there are several ways to prevent our brain from deterioration or deteriorating fast.

The Coming Out of Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys has come out. She is done pleasing people. In her essay, "Time to Uncover" published on Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter, Keys talked about how everyone’s opinion of her began to affect her.

“I started, more than ever, to become a chameleon. Never fully being who I was, but constantly changing so all the “they’s” would accept me”

Now, she is done with the pretensions. Before launching her new album, she made a list of the things she was sick of and on that list was the “constant judgement of women.” She concluded that she’s been censoring her own voice and her own self due to this constant judgement.
According to her the process that she went through was very difficult. The realisation was painful but it was one that was necessary for change... a change for the better.
Her journey to freedom started when a photographer convinced her to take photos without makeup; it was then that she felt the walls come down.  She felt “raw,” and found the power she’d been searching for.
She ends her essay with: “I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”
I am so happy for Keys and proud of what she has done.
A lot of women today still suffer living to please other people. I hope Keys story gave you more courage to forget about those people and live life for yourself. Expose to the whole world the real you and you will gain more success!

Thank You My Dear Child

This brought memories back and once again tears. Yes, tears. But not tears due to fear but tears of joy. My child was right. The Lord will make a way and He truly did. I am truly thankful for that time which happened a number of times... a reminder from a child that the Lord cares.

Have a blessed day.

Tidy and Recycle

I am into Spring cleaning today, so I am giving you some tips to clean up and recycle.

Tired of shoes flying all over your house?Don't throw your wine box. Use it to warehouse your shoes in those handy slots.

Never forget to pay a bill on time. This way you save money from interest penalty.
Use your old plastic napkin holder to organize your bills, arranging them in the order in which they need to be paid.

Reuse plastic Easter eggs.
Don't throw away the fun. These colorful containers are great for stacking snacks. You can use them again come Easter time for children's treats.

Instant picnic kit.
Don't throw away the box of your soda. Use this six pack carton as caddy for your flatware, napkins, ketchup and mustard and anything else you would need for your picnic. This 6 pack carton provides convenient compartments for easy transport.

No mess pancake.
Clean your empty ketchup plastic bottle. Use it as your handy no-mess pancake batter dispenser.
Pour in the batter in the plastic bottle, then squeeze out precise/perfect portions.

Do you still use matches?
Don't throw away the empty matchbox. Create your artwork. Decorate the box; tuck a few needles, pins, and thread into the matchbox for an instant sewing kit.

Useful shower caps.
Collect hotel giveaway shower caps. These are perfect shoes wrappers when traveling. Use the shower cap to wrap your shoes before putting them into your suitcase.

Helpful aluminium foil.
Now, if you need to do some re-painting this spring, use aluminium foil to cover the doorknobs, hinges and other ornamental hardware with aluminum foil. It works better than masking tape and it is easy to remove when you are done re-painting.

Happy Spring cleaning :)
