Valentine Gifts for your Kids

Valentine’s Day is normally celebrated by lovers as it is construed to be a day of romance.  However, Valentine’s Day is not only for lovers – it is for you and your kids.  Show your kids the value of heart’s day by celebrating Valentine’s Day with them.

1.  Make this Valentine’s Day most memorable by starting the celebration the moment they wake up.  Remember the times when you kids get “wowed” every time they receive a penny from their tooth fairy for every lost tooth?  Replicate this by slipping under their pillow a Valentine card with an invitation that they be your Valentine date.
2. Prepare a simple Valentine breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes dipped in strawberry red syrup. 
3. Since this year’s Valentine’s Day falls on a week-day, you can continue your celebration after your work and their school.  Surprise then with a game of “do you remember?”  But before the game, tell them the history of Valentine’s Day for added knowledge and for them to better appreciate the occasion and the time that you are taking to celebrate it with them.

4. End your celebration with a pizza dinner.  Since it’s Valentine’s Day your pizza restaurant will surely have some Valentine tokens.  If they did not plan for this, you can negotiate that they give Valentine gifts to your kidsJ.  Material gifts or none, your kids will surely remember your 2013 Valentine’s Day celebration.
